It was the summer of my 9th-grade year — done with my middle school days, and I was headed to high school. The new and uncertain world of boys, braces and braving the unknown!

June 2000 — I was 14 years old and so nervous as I headed off to youth camp, searching, with lots of questions, and just trying to keep my head above water. Little did I know that my life was about to change forever!

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

You see, that summer so long ago, God showed me my calling, my life’s purpose — surrendering my life to His will, whatever each season had in store. It’s been 19 years since that youth camp and SO MUCH has changed. I’ve been married for 14 years, and we have two boys, a nine-year-old, Bekton and three year old, Baylor. My husband, JD and I planted Zeal Church 4 years ago, and it’s been quite the journey. A journey of many different assignments; however, always with the same calling — “to lead people to reach their full potential in Jesus Christ.” Zeal Girl Conference is a beautiful and creative way to see that mission come to life!

My dream is that girls of all ages would be everything that God has created them to be. That with each conference, God would speak a current word into our hearts, and it would change the course of our lives forever.

This year our theme is Here & Now — (such a time as this) — a pull to urgency because we are not promised tomorrow. What would it look like if we lived this life, this moment, this season to the fullest, embracing everything that we were created to do? A call to live a life that is complete, whole, enough, strong, brave, courageous, rooted, and restored! HERE AND NOW.

“Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this?” Esther 4:14

I am committed to praying for each of you that this would be your year — to be fully present and fully awake, radiant, and vibrant in the fullness that God has called you to live out. I love each of you already, and I am so excited to walk this journey with you!

XOXO,

Leah
